The pond is calm without a ripple in sight
then suddenly a magenta fish tail flicked out
from the still waters
causing rainbow droplets of water to fly onto the bank.
A mermaid!
Giggling as she played in the waves
splashing and diving under the bubbling and frothing whirlpool of fun. Never seemed to stop. 
Suddenly as dawn turned to dusk without a warning
she dived under and the only sound was droplets of water
rolling off of the leaves of plants nearby.
