At daybreak, it’s bright.
At night, there is no
light.
I feel the cold cool air
circle around me like ice to skin.
I see an owl perched on a tree,
its cold amber eyes watching me
like a teacher would do to
a student.
I hear a crackle of lightning.
It starts to rain.
I can’t see anyone
just
shadows.
I try and lay low
but as soon as I do,
a shadow comes up to me.
And I’m too late
to save my fate.
