Plastic Ocean

I walk
I walk
I hear the ocean crashing
I feel the sand in between my toes
I look
I look, and a garbage bin stands before me
Not full
Not empty
But over flowing
Everywhere
The wind blows
Gliding through my hair
It sweeps the trash up
And sets it down in the ocean
The birds
The turtles
The fish
They eat
Eat
Eat
I tuck the plastic bottle which was once full
Into my pocket knowing I shouldn’t have bought it.
