The First Cheetah

His tail a long furry tube
A dull end with the slowest wave

Hear a shout in the distance
Perked up glass fragile ears
Feeling like a shock of happiness
Eyes sharp! Pure pearl golden
With the light of a thousand suns

Watching where you can’t see
Over a sanded desert chest
Starred eyes all around his body
Looking at you looking back in
Time

Smell a wrenching gleam of joy
Bolt, chase, catch
While you’re running.
