Waiting

This is a poem
I wrote it when
Rain filled the sky
I don’t know why I did it then
Don’t ask me why.

Ripples are like actions, you can’t take them back.
If you wait in the rain soon you’ll be wading in water.
Looking back on memories once cheery now blue.
Looking up, you see the once paved path above you
That you have fallen through.

You’re alone again, but when you aren’t
Your smile is sad, like at a funeral.
It’s all smoke and mirrors
Villains and heroes
Emotions unsaid
People taken
Like when you awaken
Only to drift away
Never to know if you will see the day.

Ripples are like actions, you can’t take them back.
Even if you wonder and wait till the sky goes black.
You are tied to the sand.
As the tide pulls in and out
You won’t have time for anything.
People you once thought you knew fading.
But, you stay alone in the darkness,
Waiting.
