Self Portrait Poem

Jumping over the river, Manhattan
Behind me. But, Brooklyn awaits.

Taking the subway back to the old
Village, back to the dojo brown belt,
Black stripe on me.

A daughter, a sister, a granddaughter,
That’s what I am.

I used to be the little one, the only one.
But, then she showed up running around,
Being all crazy.

The T.V. is on, what to watch? We’ve seen
Everything, but movie night never dies.

Surrounded by Bobs. Bob, Bub, Bobyett,
Bobiiiiiii, Boba, Bobico, Bobel, and me,
Bobet.

Middle school next year, kind of nervous
But it will be okay, got some friends with me
Gonna make new ones, but i will miss my old
School.
