Out my window

Sometimes my mind wanders
to faraway lands
And fantasy places
But sometimes all it needs is a quick trip outside
It travels through my vision and out the window

Out of the window I see many things
Cars whizzing by
and flies buzzing by the great blue sky
Trees sway in the wind alongside it all

Cars lined up like soldiers
With ants marching by

There’s nature in the mix, too
A lake twinkling in the sunlight
Flowers and bushes color the streets

Birds chirp and fly by
Squirrels eat bagels and nuts in trees
Happily munching

There are chairs and tables
Perched upon stoops of ranging sizes
Large umbrellas provide shade
And swingsets host parties for chirping children

And of course people bustle down the streets
And dogs tromp along on leashes

Light wind
And drifting leaves brush the glass
As I look out my window…
