My element
My connection
Normally I wouldn’t believe in connection
But this is different

A solid
A liquid
A gas

I love water, as much as I’m afraid of it
Especially the ocean
With animals that piece it together
And make it bigger, and stronger
So full of life and wonder

And the ocean has a heart
It’s heart
That’s being destroyed
Piece by piece

The pollution that’s hitting the seas
Reminds me of the coronavirus
Some animals die from it
Others don’t
But they can’t find a cure
Or even a shot
Because they weren’t prepared
And neither were we

I believe that every animal’s life is worth one human life
Even if they were a killer
Even if they showed no respect
Because to be honest, we do all of those things, too
And somehow were still at the top
Of all the animals

And nature gave the ocean a lot
But we took it all away
And the animals didn’t fight back
Because how could they
