Blue sky,
bright sun,
clouds, rain.
How do plants
stay alive?
It is a miracle
things have lasted
so long.

Above in the canopy,
I see an umbrella
of leaves that
block the light.
Full of vines,
birds and animals
climbing, flying.
In the trees
and treetops.
I am curious.
How do animals
communicate and
get along?
They all seem
to understand
each other.

All around me
I hear sounds.
Leaves swishing
rivers splashing.
How is this place
not a huge lake?
Everything is green.
Green leaves,
green plants.
It’s beautiful.
I see
Flowers blooming,
towering trees.
Colorful parrots,
with bright
rainbow feathers.
What will happen,
if people keep using
slash and burn?
The rainforest is
slowly dying
so we should
enjoy it while
it lasts.
