If I were in charge of the world,
I’d cancel school.
I’d cancel bugs.
I’d even cancel boats and dark chocolate.

If I were in charge of the world,
there would be swimming pools with springs.
There would be candy for breakfast.
There would even be TV.

If I were in charge of the world,
you wouldn’t have rodents.
You wouldn’t have Covid.
You wouldn’t have tomatoes.
Or, “do your homework.”
You wouldn’t even have to do writing.

If I were in charge of the world,
candy every day for snack.
Books of every kind.
Card games to play with.

And a person who does not brush their teeth,
and sometimes does not get out of bed,
would still be allowed to be
in charge of the world.
