Little Brain Men

Thoughts, stuck in my head Whispering to my brain Making me cry out as if it was rain I know its just nonsense but I cant have them go away It’s like they’re running around And reminding me everyday They always take over I just cant get them under control Whenever I try to flick them out there’s little brain men on watch patrol They do the most nastiest stuff And make my heart beat fast And whenever I try to talk about it, I get stopped as if I’m trapped in a cast They wont ever leave Their feet … Continue reading Little Brain Men

The crumble of the leaves and the buzz of the bees. The howl of a wolf and the meow of a cat nature is at the center of it all. Nature is our earth and our earth is our home. It is ours and we’ll fight to keep it that way. Continue reading Nature

The Stars

The stars twinkle like the last gleam of hope They shine bright in the pit of never ending darkness They sit around the man in the moon as he reads them stories They twinkle so bright in the dark space When the sky turns blue they know what to do They hide with pride and let the star of the day come out They don’t whine or shout They take turns shining bright In the never ending night Continue reading The Stars

Goodbye 321

It’s time to say goodbye After six memorable years So much joy along the way But also quite a few tears From all those Family Fridays with dad and momma To an occasional moment of friendship drama It went so quickly. We wrote poetry, mastered fractions and even learned about the birds and the bees. Perhaps most importantly, together we beat the COVID disease. We made plenty of mistakes along the way But we never stopped believing. Where will be next year? Equipped with a deep sense for math as well as the way of the peace path We are … Continue reading Goodbye 321

The Wind

The wind was howling On the spooky moonlit night. The thought of ghosts and goblins Filled the little boy with fright. He just couldn’t wait Until it got a bit lighter. Then his thoughts Would be a little brighter. No matter how much He turned and he tossed The red curtain dreams Made him feel cross. But when the crack of dawn came The boy shouted hurray. For all of his nightmares Had vanished away. Continue reading The Wind

The Blues Blues

It’s hard to write blues. It’s hard to write blues. If it were a game, I would lose. It’s hard to write blues. It’s hard to write blues. If writing blues was getting up, I’d hit snooze. It’s hard to write blues. It’s hard to write blues. If my poems had a smell, they’d smell like old shoes. It’s hard to write blues. It’s hard to write blues. Wish I could take some cues from Langston Hughes. It’s hard to write blues. It’s hard to write blues. If it were a game, I would lose. Continue reading The Blues Blues

I Forget

I forget everything. At home, at school or in the yard. When I am older, I’ll forget my credit card. The other day I forgot my mask, And getting it back was a hard task. Homework assignments, sweatshirts, lunch, soccer ball, When I’m older hopefully I’ll remember it all. Continue reading I Forget

Our planet is heating up, like fire People telling you it’s ok? Well they’re a liar If we let this go on and on, We may have to move to Mars Oh, and while we’re at it, get rid of fuel run cars Earth will be a frying pan, If we don’t act up soon If Mars doesn’t work for you, you can move to the moon. Enemy

The letters walked on the page with rage They were trapped on the page like they were stuck in a cage More words slipped on the page They covered the page until they were face to face The words sat in their place Until came the button called Backspace The words ran off the page Nowhere to go The Backspace was their enemy And his name was Joe Continue reading Enemy

Seasons

The wind whispered to the snowflakes being pushed by the breeze and landing in the frozen pond like stars in a deep blue night sky where shooting stars are screaming “wish on me wish on me “ when the wish of warmth is granted and the bees are humming to the flowers and caterpillars grow their wings and the water sparkles but before the flowers turned into grass they say goodbye to spring but now that the great big willow tree sings with the birds and when hotness takes over the world but when summer comes to an end and … Continue reading Seasons
