Nothing

The world stops
like pausing a movie.

The leaves crumble
like old plaster.

The ocean turns solid
like cement in the streets.

The plants turn maroon
like a tree trunk.

The soil is frozen
like a glacier on a mountain.

The trees fall
like a baby does when trying to walk
for the first time.

The sun no longer gives light
like flipping a switch to turn off
a light bulb.

The people and animals vanish
like losing your keys.

The world had life.
Now it has nothing.
