Puffin

Puffin
Digging with its bridge-like beak
Its color like the orange sunset and blue sky
Digging in the open green grass
Digging through the dark brown dirt with roots
Squiggly like worms
Then I see…
Three white eggs in its burrow
Day after day waiting ’til they hatch
Then I hear…
CRACK, CRACK, CRACK
Three baby puffins
CHEEPING, CHEEP, CHEEP
Dad puffin flies back from the ocean with some sardines
In his scooper beak
Yummy, tasty, mouth watering sardines
Filling puffin bellies
Eating for breakfast
Eating for lunch
Eating for dinner
Eating almost all of the time
Soon the three chicks are grown
“Goodbye little fellas. See you soon fluff balls.”
Flap, Flap , Flap!
