Pineapple Asylum

As Marge Simpson turns green your vision shifts to see a meteor like missile heading down to earth. A mountain of green so high like thousands of words for a lullaby. A monster rises from the debts coward in eyes with spikes on it’s head. When cut you bleed yet not red but yellow. Of all the things it could have been called it was called Pineapple. A Pineapple

A cactus climbing, up, in the desert. A hundred eyes, going around. The stem a palm tree, with its leaves tall. A plant, the body a vase, and the top strong. The surface bumpy, like a mountain, going up, and down. A volcano, with lava, bursting out. A sea, waves, spraying upward. Spikes stick up, like small daggers. The feathers, on a helment. A tree, tall, and big, Ripening green, and yellow. On the inside, sweet, and delicious. Continue reading A Pineapple

The General’s Retreat

Down beneath the willow tree, dressed from head to toe in green, the general’s retreat. His back slumped against the trunk, his back that stood so tall his posture wouldn’t fall, yet clearly you can see, down beneath the willow tree, dressed from head to toe in green, the general’s retreat. And in his hands, strong hands that hold a weapon, lags a snoring dog in which he holds so delicate on the earthen ground he sits. Down beneath the willow tree, dressed from head to toe in green, the general’s retreat. When his tramping feet are much too sore, … Continue reading The General’s Retreat

Embarrassing Dad

When I was little, I told my dad not to embarrass me, in front of class. The very next day, from far away, I saw my dad, scheming a plan, with his lad. I got to school, and I had brought something new, my dad stood there, holding my hand. Had he not come, his words would not sum up to the amount of embarrassing he got. “Howdy, y’all!” “We came from the mall, I just got her a new book, that’s really long.” “It’s the type with the ducky, and the cardboard paper, we’ve got more at home! You … Continue reading Embarrassing Dad
